Please ignore the echoing. | I have been blessed with a variety of servant experiences that God has used to shape me in ministry. Originally trained with a B.S. in Recreation Therapy, I have worked with many different ages and disorders ranging from at-risk youth to adult psychosocial rehabilitation. During my work as a therapist, I ended up working in and with several ministries, and heard the Lord calling me to parish work in the church.
That led to bible college at Concordia University, Seward, NE. Before, during and after Concordia, I was blessed to serve in several settings including campus ministry, camp ministry, parish ministry, and parochial school ministry.
Most recently I served Christ Lutheran Church as youth minister. I also became a creative writer on four person team that created a multi-sensory worship service called Room 211. Room 211 quickly grew to more than 500 weekly participants in under 2 years. It was a great experience that came as a surprise, because I had never considered what God might do with me in that area.
In 2006 I began serving Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church in Omaha, Nebraska as the Director of Youth and Children's ministries with the goal of creating and mentoring volunteer based spiritual growth opportunities for children, youth and their families.
My wife’s name is Annie, and we enjoy many outdoor activities such as camping and hiking. I play the guitar and enjoy writing music and reading, as does Andrea. We have a dog named Bailey, who is a trained therapy dog for work in the ministry.
I enjoy speaking to different camps, conferences, and youth gatherings several times each year, sharing Christ's love for me and others in my own funny, entertaining, and unique way.
I am also a speaker and trainer for the National Arthritis Foundation, Nebraska Chapter. With my background in Recreation Therapy and public speaking, I help train people to teach a specially developed exercise class for people with arthritis.
